Launched at the 2009 Edinburgh International Book Festival, Departures and Arrivals records specially commissioned work on the theme of departures, arrivals, journeys and homecoming.

A fascinating and innovative blend of prose, poetry and memoir, this double CD interprets these themes, in both literal and metaphorical ways. Twenty-four writers read extracts from their own work, in English, Scots Gaelic and the Shetland dialect, showcasing the extensive range of contemporary Scottish writing.
